Dentsu UK&I appoints Mark Hughes as COO, Media UK

Published on:

Dentsu UK&I has today announced the appointment of Mark Hughes as COO, Media, responsible for delivering operational excellence and leading integration across the UK Media business.

Hughes will be responsible for developing and executing a long-term strategy to build and maintain effective business operations. He will also establish an infrastructure which continuously improves the way dentsu’s UK Media business serves its clients.

He steps into the role from Carat UK where he began his career and where he has spent 23 years, culminating in several leadership roles - most recently as joint interim CEO, responsible for growing the iconic media agency across its full range of specialisms.

Hughes will report to Hamish Nicklin, CEO, Media, dentsu UK&I and Tom Amies-Cull, Global Chief Operating Officer, dentsu international, Media.

Hamish Nicklin, CEO of Media, dentsu UK&I said: “Mark’s forensic knowledge of the media business in general and his incredible legacy at Carat made him a great candidate for this role on paper. The fact that off paper he is a brilliant human being with a passion for solving problems and creative thinking makes him the perfect choice as we build the media agency model of the future at dentsu.”

Mark Hughes, added: “I’m hugely excited to take up this role with the opportunity to marry my leadership and business transformation skills and client partnership experience to continue to drive positive change across our business. I’ll be focused on creating the best possible experience for our people and clients across Media. There’s lots to look forward to and I can’t wait to get started.”

Hughes will be moving into the new role in February.
